The Rotary clubs of southern Oregon are collaborating with other organizations and local governments to rebuild what was lost in the Almeda/Glendower, Obenchain and surrounding fires. Their efforts will be focused on immediate disaster relief as well as long-term recovery.
Visit www.RotaryRebuildsSouthernOregon.com to learn more and to donate. The clubs are accepting financial donations to support these efforts by mailing them to P. O. Box 3333, Central Point, OR 97502.
Area Coordinator for the effort Leenn Mobley said, “Every penny of your donations will go toward local rebuilding efforts–we are a volunteer service organization with no overhead expenses. Rotarians are People of Action. It’s a Rotarian who is coordinating volunteer efforts at the Jackson County Expo. It’s a Rotarian who is coordinating the Red Cross Regional Response Team in southern Oregon. It’s Rotarians who have built community gardens, community parks, computer labs, tiny houses, track fields in the Rogue Valley. And we will play our role in rebuilding from this disaster.”
Local Rotarians are tapping the expertise of fellow Rotarians who responded to the Paradise and Sonoma fires to help guide our planning and maximize our efforts.
