Rotarians serving Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, Lincoln City & Newport are well positioned to assist with an urgent community need as a result of COVID-19. Samaritan Health Services (SHS), like all of our nations’ health systems, are in need of surgical masks. This has been well documented by the media and across social-media groups. Here is how you can help!
DIY SURGICAL MASKS – There are many videos online how to make a surgical mask. Attached are some instructions with a sample DIY video. The need for masks outweighs the design at this point. Please use 100% cotton and, if possible, washed. SHS Infection Control will conduct a process to inspect and sanitize all masks prior to use.
BECOME A COMMUNITY MASK DROP ZONE – If you have a business with ample parking and low traffic, we would like to list you as a MASK DROP ZONE (MDZ). This simply requires a large drop box for community members to easily drop the masks they make and contacting the SHS Foundation for pick up. We want to avoid community members making unnecessary trips to our hospitals. DONATE MATERIALS TO MASK DROP ZONE
- MDZ CORVALLIS: Corvallis Radiology, 938 NW Kings Blvd, Corvallis, OR | Mark Kalmar 541-452-8008
- MDZ CORVALLIS: Washington Federal Bank, 1111A NW 9th St, Corvallis, OR | Inge King 541-754-7777
Don’t sew and want to assist? You can provide materials – ¼” elastic bands or 100% cotton – for our community seamstresses in the MDZ drop boxes. Questions? Contact SHSFoundations@samhealth.org | 541-768-6924
