Rotaract Clubs of District 5110
Founded in 1968 and present in 184 countries, Rotaract clubs are service organizations for young adults, ages 18 and up. They are sponsored by and “partners in service” with a Rotary club, and they can be university-based or community-based. In District 5110, there are four active Rotaract clubs: University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Southern Oregon University, and Rotaract Club of No Borders (an e-club based in District 5110, with members in several countries). Members participate in Big West Rotaract events and conferences, supported by District 5110 and their Rotary club sponsors; we send at least one Rotaractor to the annual RI Convention and Rotaract Pre-convention.
Individual clubs operate according to the Rotaract Statement of Policy and a Standard Rotaract Club Constitution. Clubs carry out at least two service projects each year, one in their local community and one in another country. They often join with Rotary clubs, and other Rotaract and Interact clubs, to raise funds and design and deliver services. Rotaractors can now have dual memberships in Rotaract and Rotary.
In District 5110, Rotaract is overseen by a 10-member executive committee comprised of equal numbers of Rotarians and Rotaractors. Co-Chairs are a District Rotaract Representative (DRR) and a Rotarian District Rotaract Chair. This committee advises and reports to the District 5110 Youth Services Chair and the District Governor.
