As we prepare for the December holidays, it is also an opportunity to look ahead to 2020 club activities.  One activity that resonates with both Rotary’s Youth Service and Vocational Service is the annual 4-Way Test Speech contest.   District 5110 clubs are encouraged to participate with this event.  All participating clubs have the opportunity to advance a high school age candidate to the District 5110 event with a top prize of $3,500 to the recognized winner.

I am also happy to announce that Freddy Saxton, a member of the Rotary Club of Newport, will serve as co-chair of the district’s 4-Way Speech Contest.  Freddy has a long history of service to area youth, including chairing his club’s RYLA and Interact committees.  He is a Paul Harris Fellow, club President-Elect, and was honored as Club Rotarian of the Year.  Freddy will assume the reins of this event beginning July 2020.

Participating clubs can register by clicking here.  Links to additional documents, such as student packets, promotional materials guidelines and timelines can be accessed by clicking on the links below. (You can also access them on Dacdb under district files-public).

As a reminder—to qualify for the District 5110 4-Way Test Speech Contest that will be held May 2nd in Eugene, clubs must register intent.  If any club is in need of assistance or have any questions, I would be glad to assist; e-mail  drgerryk@gmail.com
