The Rotary Club of Lakeview partnered with a high school students and administrators to provide cinnamon rolls from a local eatery, to incident management team and fire personnel who responded to the Bootleg fire in southern Oregon. Grant funds from Rotary’s action grants were applied toward a shade cover with Rotary branding for future outdoor club activities and events. This will help elevate visibility of the club presence in the community.

Lakeview is grateful for Rotary’s assistance in supporting fire personnel while they were in the community and the fast response with the grant helped us mobilize in time. We believe the shade cover will also be effective for its lifespan in promoting club service in the community which may help increase our impact. The opportunity to meet and support folks from other communities was an avenue to expand our reach.  Our club appreciates the concept of setting funds aside for strategic priorities to begin the Rotary year with immediate actionable direction. I hope to have the club structure this within our budget for each president to begin with an action. This would help increase our ability to adapt and elicit engagement.

The Club will continue to look for ways to partner with the school district and student body to promote service and Rotary and build on the benefit realized from the grant. Thank you!
